5th ANNIVERSARY EDITION Blueback Herring BTD Trolling Fly

The bucktail deceiver (BTD) trolling fly developed by Musky Mike Flies in 2020 became one of the most realistic trolling fly patterns ever developed. Debuted in Port Washington, WI during the 2020 open water season, the Great Lakes trolling scene never observed a fly with such realism compared to traditional Howie-style flies which consisted of simple mylar tinsel. As effective as traditional weaponry has been, with Musky Mike Flies achieving its 5th anniversary in business, we are releasing a special 5th Anniversary edition blueback herring trolling fly for summer 2025. Available in 6-inch and 7-inch models, this special model contains additional synthetics and other tying materilals to provide additonal realism to the standard baseline model. Bucktail hair is blended with Angel hair (synthetic hair) to create wider profile, maximum movement, and undulation. Upper back consists of chartruese bucktail followed by turquoise blue bucktail with kingfisher blue angel hair, and royal blue bucktail with dark blue and purple angel hair. Topping consists of holographic royal blue and teal blue flashabou and accented with peacock herl. Lateral line consists of mulitple strands of holographic Saltwater flashabou in teal blue. A dyed royal blue hen saddle feather represents the gill plate or operculum. This 5th anniversary model uses advanced 3-D holographic 10 mm custom-made eyes from Dead Meat Customs.  Thread wraps coated with thick UV resin and larger head up front coated with high gloss thick viscosity UV resin which thus results in a bulletproof crystal-clear finish.
